Hi Steven
I think moving to Discord from this rather outdated forum is a fantastic idea, but be prepared for a lot of feedback once there!

Re: Flex 3 Maximum Capturing Area
hi Mwageeh The system configurator will give you a good idea of the space required and the resulting capture volume, it is virtually unchanged from what you get with 16 Capture Volume:12 × 12 × 8 feet 4 × 4 × 2 meters Setup Area:24 × 24 feet 7 × 7 meters Actors with Props:2 The limitation is due to ...

Re: Limited budget. What cameras should I buy for dances recording?
Hi Upstream99 Prime13w's have a limitation, at distances greater than around 5meters, the distortion of the lens, for body mocap, creates issues, so you would ideally need a combination of prime13's and 13w's. As far as them being too slow for dance, might be the case for flex3's which are only 100f...

Re: Limited budget. What cameras should I buy for dances recording?
HI Upstream99 You could do this with the flex3 or flex13 cameras which would be in your budget, but your biggest challenge is the space, even with extending your room. Ideally, you should have around 7x7 meters, which will give you a roughly 4x4 meter capture volume (where you best capture your danc...

Re: Minimum space requirements for 'story' mocap?
Hi LiannaS Flex13's are normally installed in roughly a 24x24 foot space (or some configuration of that), which is the maximum they can reach due to the limitations of usb cabling. You are going to get with this a roughly 12x12 capture volume. This limits what you can do in that space, so any captur...

Re: How do you retarget in Unreal?
Hi Fabio Unfortunately, this is rather hard to do with a bone remapper, you will have to adjust the actual avatar in Motive, which can give rather interesting results. Depending on what you are doing, what I suggest is use something like Motionbuilder as the go between, using its retargeter, then li...

Re: Rigid body mix up with sceleton segments
Hi Aviator
You might be getting this swapping because the rigid bodies are too similar. When using passive markers, you need to have each cluster of markers be as different as possible to avoid this problem.
Hope this helps

Re: What is happening with IKINEMA?
Hi Bruno Indeed, Ikinema is no longer, when Apple purchased the product it was removed completely, those with licenses were left in a lurch. The current plugin for Optitrack is a bone to bone transfer of data, so things can look a little interesting, but it does work (you just have to do some things...
