Re: Surrender 2
<t>OK my friends. You'll be happy to know that I'm almost there. It was something DonULFonso said about the distance from the sensor to the reciever - his was about 80cm. This is quite a bit farther than what the documentation calls for.<br/> <br/> So, I moved the tracker all the way back to the mon...

Re: Surrender 2
<t>Thanks gentlemen. I really appreciate it.<br/> <br/> Regarding installed distance - I've installed the receiver on a piece of flat aluminum that comes out from the monitor (just above it) to a point approximately 21 inches from my head. The sticker is on a clip on top of my headset mounted to a l...

Surrender 2
<t>Well, I received wonderful and helpful responses from all of you on this tracker. However, I'm afraid in its current installation and configuration, I cannot use this device - it is just too unstable.<br/> <br/> You cannot fly a large jet aircraft with your view going all over the screen. I've tr...

Re: Surrender
Now that we have discovered the operational requirements, how on earth do you get the tracker to stop being so sensitive. I've tried several different settings but nothing helps.

Re: Surrender
<t>Thanks so much for your help.<br/> <br/> My next problem is the edit points and how you configure items like the dead zone. I'm not sure about this concept so I guess I'll have to keep digging. This part of the user interface is not very friendly nor is it well-explained - at least not for me.<br...

Re: Surrender
Thanks for your response.
Regarding speed - I have both axis set to 0.
Regarding smooth settings - I have it set at 80 now.
I will play with the install distance to see if that helps with the sensitivity.
Again, thanks.

Now I'll have to play with the settings so that I don't make myself totally ill trying to take off with the view going all over the screen.<br/> <br/> And - wonder o...

Re: Surrender
<t>New developments:<br/> <br/> I tried the reflector attachment solution using a cylindrical element and the improvement to movement stability was pronounced. I think this keeps the reflector surface linked more strongly to the receiver as opposed to a flat installation.<br/> <br/> I also tried inv...

Re: Surrender
<t>Regarding movement - as I stated previously, if I keep my head movement in a flat plane (along the X axis), I can get the green "cursor" to move right-to-left and back to both edges of the screen. Of course, trying to do that in an up-down direction is more difficult since my neck is not mounted ...

Re: Surrender
<t>Regarding illumination - I turn all the lights in the room off except a light off to the left (and behind) of the tracker in another room. There is no direct lighting affecting the receiver. In addition, the "green dot" appears on the screen with little or no reflective objects displayed.<br/> <b...
