Stream to Matlab on Ubuntu

Hi folks, We are working on Matlab R2016 on 14.04LTS Ubuntu desktop. We are trying to stream data from Motive to Matlab. The ideal solution should be directly streaming data to Matlab. However, we tested the Matlab sample code on Ubuntu and it said "theClient" was undefined. I guess this is because ...

Re: Receive no data on Local machine

Thanks for the reply, Bryan! Yes, I am using the internet on campus. However, I am not sure whether this is the internet administration problem. When I set it to multicast and use remote desktop to receive Optitrack data, it works. The remote desktop is in the same LAN as the Motive server machine. ...

Re: Receive no data on Local machine

Hi folks, I found one solution to the problem. I set the "type" under advanced network options to "unicast" and accordingly set matlab code or winform app to receive data in unicast mode and it works. Somehow we tried this before and it didn't work. I guess we forgot to set either the server side or...

Receive no data on Local machine

Hi folks, We use a Motive on Windows and run sample codes from NatNet SDK to test the system. We think the sample codes successfully connect to the Motive server but fail to receive any data. Below is what we set in the streaming panel in Motive: Broadcast frame data - check Local Interface - loopba...

Re: Port fowarding for Optitrack

Hi bsteagal, I appreciate these useful suggestions! It needs some time to coordinate with coworkers to decide which way to go so my reply comes late. Sorry about that. We finally reset the wireless router to disable the DHCP service on it and since then everything works fine. In case anyone interest...

Port fowarding for Optitrack

Hi, We have an Optitrack Motive:Tracker system in the lab, with FLEX 3 cameras. The network setting in our lab is there is a switch connected all desktop machines as a LAN, whose ip address is 192.168.1.xxx. All Optitrack camera data is streamed to one of these desktop machines (Windows XP). And Mot...

Refraction issue when locating markers

Hi, Our Optitrack system uses Flex 3 cameras and Motive: Tracker GUI on the desktop. In our experiment, we put robots into a glass box. Each robot is defined with three markers. We are thinking about using acrylic plexiglass as the cover of the box. And we want to use Optitrack to locate the robots ...

Record video

Hi guys, I wonder if Optitrack can record the moves of rigid bodies to a video just as the way I see them in the perspective view window in Motive. I mean I just want to see a video where there is a black background and grids, and rigid bodies moving in the scene and maybe some other white markers. ...

Re: Motive to ROS via NatNet

Hi Steven, Appreciate the share! Since I have already worked for a while on the mocap_optitrack package, so it's easier for me to start from their package. The good news is tracking labeled markers' positions and unlabeled markers' positions both work out for me using this package on ROS! Actually t...
