Update: Take away: The quaternion is correct. Minor finding: The yaw-pitch-roll is incorrect if yaw is about y axis, pitch is about z-axis, and roll is about x-axis, and the rotation is obtained by R = Rx*Rz*Ry. I verified the correctness of the quaternion by writing a simple animation in Matlab.

Still, I would like to know if I can trust either the quaternion or the yaw-pitch-roll, or neither. Do you have the answer to that?
