Re: Red Baron and TrackIR

As far as I know TIR emulates only mouse movement. As there is no mouse movement coded into RB2-3D I don't think TIR can work in it.

<t>quote:Originally posted by DNME:<br/> Hotdog,<br/> <br/> I sure can recommend TrackIR in any flightsim which supports mouselook. Re: I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

Actually Recon, nine times out of ten I'm as polite as the next guy. It's just that when I rant my style creates such a huge impact people remember the one instead of the nine.

Re: 360 Needs to be Fixed for FB

<t>Try an experiment. Sit in your seat and imagine yourself in the confines of a cockpit, strapped-in and constrained by the armor panels and with full control of the stick & throttle. Imagine for argument's sake that the straps aren't cinched too tight, allowing a bit of trunk movement. Now try...

Re: Halstead or Jim re 2.01b and its removal

<t>I would agree, except that 2.1b will be used by FB cheats online unless Oleg finds a way to patch it out game-side. The fact is 360-degree panning is not possible in FB except by use of the 2.1b. In that respect it is fair to judge 2.1b as an inadvertant hack that subverted Oleg's intent in regar...

Re: TIR & FB...is it worth it?

<t>I have to admit I haven't tried it in any games other than Il2 and FB.<br/> <br/> There's no way it's precise enough for any FPS using mouse-mode imo, and with the limit-bounce the loss of centre is too critical for a sim furball. I guess with any sim that allows 360-degree panning it'll work ok,...

Re: I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

<t>That's an ironic observation sanature because most of the crooks I deal with around my neck of the woods are the very people who end up on the wrong end of a baseball bat (or in a "creek" with "broken bones").<br/> <br/> Hard working and decent people are the very ones who are preyed upon by big ...

Re: 360 Needs to be Fixed for FB

Having Linda Blair as an option is fair comment, but you should remember that it's implementation was an oversight and this issue would never have arisen, nor would it be a matter for debate now, if that oversight had never been made in the first place.

Re: TIR & FB...is it worth it?

<t>I guess I like stuff to work close to 100%. Mouse-mode is around 75% imo, and not viable for me. If it works for you that's great, but I'm as entitled to my opinion as you are. People are entitled to hear both sides (which they get here), then they can make an informed decision. Is that a problem...

<t>Here's the deal Halstead...<br/> <br/> a) Don't assume everyone has access to the internet and can read your forums or DL patches etc. This "release now, patch later via the net" is a disease that rightfully enrages people. If you were back in the days of no net you would have to test your softwa...
