"Solver Replaces Occlusion" not working

Hi, I have a rigid body with 5 markers. When I hide one of the markers, I only get 4 markers in the NatNet stream, even though I have "Solver Replaces Occlusion" turned on in the Streaming pane. I would expect to still see 5 markers, with the occluded marker having the "model solved&q...

Re: Unlabeled markers are not streamed

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your help. I can see why you have 'unlabeled' markers sent using LabeledMarker type, I just thought the naming was a bit confusing.

So just to be clear: two of the new flags added in 3.0.1, bHasModel and bUnlabeled, are exact opposites of each other?

Cheers,
Matthew :)

Re: Unlabeled markers are not streamed

Hi Steven, Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I've just noticed some changes in SDK 3.0.1. In the direct depacketization client, when parsing the labelled marker parameters, two of the parameters are bHasModel ("marker has an associated model") and bUnlabeled ("marker is an unlabeled...

Re: NatNet SDK Linux support and licensing

@jgoppert There are two open-source ROS packages we've used in the past: mocap_optitrack and vrpn_client_ros (not ros_vrpn_client, which is abandoned). Mocap_optitrack crashes a lot. so we've given up on it. vrpn_client_ros works well but doesn't stream individual marker positions, so I'm working on...

Re: NatNet SDK Linux support and licensing

Hi Steven, Thanks for clarifying that. In the end I've just reimplemented everything myself from scratch, so the licensing issue doesn't affect me any more. Having said that though: given that basically everyone in UAV research and robotics uses Linux, it does seem a bit counter-intuitive that you'r...

Re: Unlabeled markers are not streamed

Hi Steven, Thanks for following up on that, I'll ignore "Other Markers" then. Just so we're clear: In the NatNet SDK, a "labeled marker" is a marker with an ID, size, residual etc. In the NatNet SDK, an "unlabeled marker" is a marker with only a position. In Motive, a &...

NatNet SDK Linux support and licensing

In the NatNet SDK 3.0.0 User's Guide, it says "Supported Platforms: ... Linux: 64-bit. Ships in SO format." Where can I find these Linux binaries? I'm trying to build a ROS client for NatNet 3, since the existing open-source solutions are not very good. Depending on whether I can use the S...

Re: Unlabeled markers are not streamed

Hi Steven, Thanks for pointing out the update, I missed the announcement for that one. The new behavior is usable, but still unexpected. With only labeled markers enabled, I get only five labelled markers (correct). With only unlabeled markers enabled, I get nothing (incorrect). With labeled and unl...

Unlabeled markers are not streamed

I can't get unlabeled marker streaming to work. I'm using Motive 2.0.0 Beta 1 and the "SampleClient" sample from NatNet SDK 3.0.0 (both on the same PC). In Motive, I have one rigid body with five markers, and one marker which is not part of a rigid body. SampleClient receives one rigid bod...

Re: Generating precise local coordinate system for a rigid b

Has there been any progress on this, or is your suggested workflow still to manually tweak the offsets in the GUI until it "looks right"? It seems pretty dishonest to market your product as a precision engineering tool when you don't even have the basic features we expect from Vicon (edita...
