I was having this exact problem (I posted it in the TIR5 section) and have just resolved it by removing the ASUS Gamer OSD and Smartdoctor software which came with my card (GTX285).
Hope this helps.

Re: No tracking display?
OK, so if I update my nvidia drivers (to any version) and then launch TiR5 without rebooting, it works.
I reboot, and it's back to a white box, no curves or tracking display.
Are there special OpenGL driver settings required for the trackir software?

1680x1050
I was using the 190.38 drivers but they were causing problems so I uninstalled and went back to 186.18 which seem more reliable.
Is the tracking display an OpenGL or DX display?

No tracking display?
Hi,
I'm running Windows 7 (full version, MSDN subs
) and trying to use the new version 5 software with my 4 pro hardware, but this is all I get in the software:

nVidia 186.18 on a GTX285 if that makes any difference.

Re: Yay it's arrived! Boo it won't install!
<t>Thanks for the concern - I'm pretty savvy with the windows registry, I don't *think* it's a software issue rather I think it's a USB/drivers issue - it should 'name' the device as soon as it's plugged in, before it looks for drivers. But I don't know if that process accesses the .inf file or is s...
