I have an LCD rear-projection TV I'm running with TrackIR. I just set the TrackIR head on top of the TV - works great!

Re: Love it! But I think I am developing problems.
<t>Another thing to check is the aim of the tracking head. If it isn't getting a good view of your head throughout your range of motion, it can't track.

There was another post somewhere on some guidelines on how to make sure it is aimed properly for good tracking.

Another possi...

Re: Big problem with combat sims -
<t>If you want, you could forward those explanation pages to the sim software publishers and help them make their sims more realistic.

This isn't NaturalPoint's problem and is basically impossible for them to fix. All they do is track your hrad. It's up to the sim software guys to use tha...

Re: Guns don't aim correctly
<t>Hey Cas,

Yep - that's how it happens in real life.

The bullets only know which way they were aimed at the time they were fired. If you are pulling up then the tracers will appear to drop away.

Sit on the runway and fire - the bullets should appear to track normall...

Re: TrackIR 3 with Projector
<t>One more update

I don't believe there is any modulation or if there is, it doesn't matter. The TrackIR will track a flashlight bulb just fine.

I also tried to see how well it would see conventional red LEDs - not very well. But it did see them.

That said, I think...

Re: TrackIR 3 with Projector
<t>Update - I just remembered the "Light Filtering" option under "Settings". If you turn that down to minimum, it will work with a piece of plate glass.

The image was fairly faint but it was there and it tracked.

If the illumination LEDs are not modulated, then a person could a...

Re: TrackIR 3 with Projector
<t>Hi Rick,

I just tried it - both with a mirror and with a piece of plate glass using the View/Tracking option in the software.

The mirror method works great. The plate glass idea doesn't - at least not the way I was doing it. The TrackIR could see the reflectors through the g...

Re: TrackIR 3 with Projector
<t>TrackIR images in the near infrared. That's why you can just see the glow of the illumination LEDs. They don't look bright to us because we don't see well in the near IR and what they emit and what we see just barely overlap.

All that said, a mirror should still work well enough at the...

Re: No Green Light
<t>I had this happen too. All I did was quit the TrackIR software and then unplug the TrackIR, wait a moment, and plug it back in.

It started working again when I re-opened the TrackIR software.

As an aside, it happened when I fired up GT Legends without first firing up the Tra...
