If anybody is interested I tinkered a bit more with the Motive and my application while watching the packets on the Wireshark. I am sending empty NAT_CONNECT message followed by NAT_REQUEST message (with "TestRequest" message) and then waiting for the Response. All this on data port 1510. ...

Thank you for the swift response.
It was as you said, the Calibration square was not visible because I had switched tracking mode to Active, while tinkering and not knowing what it means. A soon as I switched it back to Passive tracking I could successfully calibrate the ground plane.
