OK, not starting in Enhanced mode helps but doesn't cure the problem. It still happened but took much longer.

Locking it to one CPU worked as well. Ditto for turning off HT so it it looks like a threading issue.

The crash smells like a reentrant problem or missing thread lock...but I'v enot done much specific Windows coding on their thread model to be certain...

UPDATE:

Turned off remembering the mode. Still got the double window but was able to play an entire hour long mission in FB without crash by waiting until in game to switch to enhanced mode.

Will continue to test today.

Ditto, getting the same error. Got it in both IL2 Forgotten Battles and FS2004. This is using 3.01 with a TIR 1 model. Serial number 005706 if that helps narrow it down.
