Nothing notable is running. I did try with my antivirus disabled.

I have tested it directly in all available local USB ports as well as through a USB hub for the heck of it.

Both machines are Windows XP SP2. I am logged in with administrator privileges.

To clarify, the access denied message is not a popup, but is the final message from the install wizard.
