Re: Insight VCS

<t>Hi Don,<br/> <br/> You can turn off smoothing in the properties window of the device. Select the Inight device in your navigator, then go to the properties window and turn off translate smoothing and rotate smoothing. I have seen this "unlock" rotations before. Also check your properties window s...

Re: Problem with making Rigid bodies

<t>Mike's advice here is good. <br/> <br/> Also, not that you are doing this, but another good thing to remember is never let any of your markers in a rigid body form an equilateral triangle. As soon as you do, you will get flipping (marker swap) and/or Arena will start looking at other markers with...

Re: Insight VCS

Hey Don!

That doesnt sound good! First are you using the MotionBuilder plugin or the maya plugin?

Try turning off all smoothing and let me know what happens.

Re: Lag issues help

<t>Morgan's advice here was all very solid. We were running into the same timing issue recently as well, and it turned out to be the 100 vs 120fps issue Morgan was talking about.<br/> <br/> Also, what are you using for your general maya playback settings? We have found that we need to set our timeli...

Re: VCS python scripts

<t>Hi Duncan,<br/> <br/> We were running into the exact same issues with working soley with the zoom function. It's great when you are going for that docu/eng feel but most of the time in previs we live in a primes world.<br/> <br/> I use this script as a template and then make new ones for each sho...

Re: Stream Rigid Body and a skeleton?

<t>This has been fixed, but before it was we had a lot of fun watching our actor walk up to a gun prop, but instead of him picking it up, the prop picked him up and carried him around. <br/> <br/> There was some good comedy in the moment!<br/> <br/> We have hit a new snag though. We recently tried s...

Re: Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?

<t>Hey Nomad & Bryan,<br/> <br/> We are upgrading our volume to the s250 setup with 30' x 24' camera spacing. As soon as we get set up, I will be sure to post what our footprint versus usable capture volume is along with overall performance gains as well. <br/> <br/> Currently we are running 24 ...

Re: Replacing hands with other markers

<t>We just did a shoot with something similar to this. If your actor is going to hold the shield the entire time, I would just take one of the hand marker rigid bodies and put it on the outside of the shield right where your actors hand is. If your shield is not going to get hit, just velcro it on, ...
