Re: Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?

Veeeery interesting. Thanks.

How many cameras are you running on that rig>? I'm guessing they're the new s250 ones?

Re: Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?

<t>Not going to get annoying about this, but I figured this topic was worth one "bump" / "blue response pls!". <br/> <br/> So - if anyone from Naturalpoint had any comments or suggestions on what we've been discussing here, I think both Bryan and I would be really interested to hear! <br/> <br/> (Ho...

Re: Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?

<t>I've done a fair bit of testing with the intertial systems - frankly, the foot-tracking is pretty good even without sonar, and XY cleanup is not a hugely time-consuming process. (Nearly bought a couple of the IGS systems a few years ago). Impact causing the sensors to go haywire are an issue for ...

Re: Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?

<t>Thanks for the very detailed and interesting response! <br/> <br/> So you can extend the capture space a few feet by using active IR markers? Interesting... Might have to try that for the current project. <br/> <br/> The thing here is that I AM willing to pay for a larger capture volume - or rath...

Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?

So, rather than talking practical right-now stuff, I thought I'd ask a blue-sky question and see if anyone from Naturalpoint or elsewhere had the answer to it - Would it ever be possible to get a 30' square or more capture space using Arena? I'm not purely talking with current setup. I'm just wonder...

Re: Replacing hands with other markers

That makes sense - won't the motion capture data be kinda screwed up by the missing hand markers, though? (the system really won't be able to see the left hand markers behind the shield at all, I'd guess).

Re: 2 character capture

We've been doing an awful lot of this - a full film's worth. 12 cameras produces decent-quality animation with very few drop-outs. 18 might well be amazing, but 12 certainly does the job.

Replacing hands with other markers

<t>Heya!<br/> <br/> So I'm preparing for a fight scene shoot on Weds (after the last one was truly excellently captured - thanks, guys, 1.6 rocks). <br/> <br/> I have a problem: One of the characters is using a small shield, a buckler. Now, that's going to completely occlude my hand markers. However...

Nice work, guys

I've just pulled a whole bunch of capture data made with the new wand and Arena 1.6 into Motionbuilder - much better, smoother capture than before, really nice stuff. Nice work, guys!

Re: 18-camera "corridor"?

Awesome!

I must confess, my 3D math isn't quite up to working this out - if you've got a corridor of cameras, how widely apart can they be spread?
