Re: Foundation Motion Capture Poser charactor support ?
<t>A Poser plugin for Daz Characters would be great. I have been using the Daz plugin, and then exporting a BVH, and importing that into Poser for Daz figures, which works pretty well for V4 and M4. <br/> <br/> I'm presently experimenting with exporting the BVH directly out of Arena and importing in...

Re: Star Trek: Aurora part 4--full character animations
I really only started using the Optitrack on Part 4--the first 3 parts did not use mocap except for just a very few places.

Re: Arena on mac?
I use VM Ware Fusion instead of Bootcamp. It's cheap--$79--and super-stable, plus you can go from the windows environment to Mac and back live--Windows is just another window on your desktop, and you can even put a linked folder on your Windows desktop into your Mac environment.

Re: Star Trek: Aurora part 4--full character animations
<r>Thanks! Those are Daz characters rendered in Cinema 4D, with mocap via Arena to Daz Studio to Poser to Cinema 4D. My workflow is outlined on my site at:<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://www.auroratrek.com/production.html">http://www.auroratrek.com/production.html</URL> (scroll down)<br/> <br/> --Tim</r>

Re: Help needed upgrading mocap system from 6 cameras to 8
<t>I started with a 6-camera system in a 14'x14' area and the capture volume was far too small. I upgraded to 8 cameras with wide-angle lenses, and it made a huge difference, since instead of cameras being 14' apart, they are now about 18' apart, since they are set in the corners of the the 14'x14' ...

What is the advantage of cleanup before trajectorizing vs. after?

Motion Constraints?
<t>Is there any way to restrict rotation on a skeleton when capturing or maybe processing? My captures are very good overall, but one problem I have is that when an actor spreads their arms, like in a shrugging gesture, part of the resulting movement of the arms comes from the forearms moving side-t...

Re: BVH Export/Import
<t>Found the solution: there's a little check box on the Arena bvh export that turns on/off "single joint spine" (needs to be off). For Poser users, the other thing you need to do is open the bvh in a text editor and change "ab" to "abdomen" and then you're good to go. I'm using the latest version o...

BVH Export/Import
<t>I have new cameras, the new software and a new version of Poser, and when I export a BVH from Arena and bring it into Poser it looks great--rock solid....however, as I discovered when I imported a motion with the character bending over, I found that the Arena data apparently has a bend for "chest...
