Re: I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

<t>You'll have to excuse my manner HD, I don't believe in being 'nice' just to spare somebody some discomfort when they deserve it just because it's 'The Civilised' thing to do. Clearly there are multiple issues with this software, and un-deleted registry keys are a classic cause of problems with ma...

Re: I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

<t>Nah, I did all that nicea-nice BS when I was young and companies just think "here's another mug, give him the soft-soap routine and sap him off." <br/> <br/> In my older years I've found it's a liability to go in all polite. For example, go into any high-street store and request a refund for a sh...

Re: I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

<t>Oh get over yourself Charlie. I didn't come here to ask you or any other member for help, did I. And who the hell asked you to listen to me? I could care less whether you stick your nose in my thread or not. Knock yourself out or go blow, it's all the same to me. I came here to vent my frustratio...

<t>You regard me as "totally rude", I regard myself as "forthright & direct".<br/> <br/> I'll meet you half-way and agree I'm "rudely forthright", under the following definition of "rude":<br/> <br/> "Coarse; roughly done; abrupt; vigorous; hearty". (Oxford Reference Dictionary).<br/> <br/> I'm ...

TIR & FB...is it worth it?

<t>Once you've got it working it's a bloody marvel. I've just got thru testing it in enhanced mode and they've got everything spot-on. Filtering, dead-zone, centering...perfectermundo.<br/> <br/> So yes, if you can get it working it's worth it. If you can't get it working by yourself you'll find eno...

Re: I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

<t>Yeah, they provide 'support' in as much that they're willing to make wild guesses about their own software.<br/> <br/> I fixed mine by going into the registry. I found a bunch of folders, one for every version of the software I'd loaded from 1.3 thru to 2.1final (all in one location). I deleted t...

I'm about ready to blow a fuse.

<t>I got FB and fired-up TIR with software v2.0. <br/> <br/> Everything worked except I was not able to adjust the speed. I went to v2.1b and ditto. Then, for no explanation I could find the speed started working but enhanced mode ceased to work. I next tried v2.1final, still nada.<br/> <br/> Additi...

I concur. With this level of commitment TIR is a winner, regardless of minor teething probs.

Re: full head translation

Two TIR's would be the way to go, so you could kind of triangulate the head's position. I think radio would even be more precise than IR radiation? Certainly it would overcome the limitations of both range and FOV.

Re: Machine hangs if TIR left idle

One odd thing that I've noticed is the TIR software causes my ADSL window to open and flash on the taskbar. It doesn't disconnect or anything, just behaves as if I'd double-clicked the wee connection icon. Weird.
