18-camera "corridor"?

<t>I had a thought about capture volumes with the new wand and software. <br/> <br/> We don't need to have all our cameras pointing at the same point any more, am I right? <br/> <br/> If so, would it be possible to, with a sufficently large number of cameras, set up a "corridor" of cameras to allow ...

Re: 3 marker wand specs and new camera configurations

<t>I'm VERY impressed with the new wand. Capture data is substantially cleaner, and the volume's increased a bit - not a lot, but anything's good at this point. <br/> <br/> In addition, the new calibration method ("Just keep going until we tell you your wanding's good enough") is a huge, huge advanc...

Re: Insight VCS page now available, w/ pricing and features

Ah, now, that is VERY interesting. Thanks - I'll strongly consider it.

*Goes off to attempt to squeeze yet more stuff into his rather tight budget*

Re: Insight VCS page now available, w/ pricing and features

Damn, I was really interested in this, but $6k is, I must admit, more than I was expecting. Oh, well- good luck with it anyway.

Re: phantom markers

Interesting. We've had lots of problems with phantom markers too, usually a third phantom appearing between the two foot markers. We'll see if the new wand sorts that problem out.

Re: Foot sliding with the 3DSMax streaming software

I'll have another look at it - if all else fails I'll use the root translation in the Stream tab. Thanks!

Re: the new wand

WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT.

Can't wait for the Arena release. Looks like a massive improvement, and that'll really help with the heavy capture we're doing.

Thanks, guys.

Foot sliding with the 3DSMax streaming software

<t>Hiya! <br/> <br/> I'm just testing the MAX streaming software again - getting good results, but I'm having a significant problem with foot-sliding. It looks like the root node is over-translating. <br/> <br/> I'd guess I'm meant to fix this with the Translation % boxes, but no number I type in th...

Re: Estimated time of arrival?

D'oh, missed it in the last post. "Around Siggraph time", so that's mid-July, ish.

(Leaving this here for other boneheads like myself...)

Estimated time of arrival?

I must confess, I badly want one of these. Badly enough that I might have to try assembling a home-brew one if they aren't imminent.

I know it's the question that anyone in R&D hates to ask (ask me when Death Knight Love Story comes out!), but - any idea on ETA?
