Re: Playing 3-D shooter games with the SmartNav

<t>For a start, make sure you're on relative not absolute. In this way , if the pointer is in the middle while your head is pointed all the way to the left, swinging your head right will "push" the centering back to the middle. Then set the sensitivity low, play a game and slowly raise the sensitivi...

Re: SmartNav first impressions

Re: SmartNav first impressions

Wow, do those really work? Do you have to consciously frown or something for it to recognise an expression and trigger a response?

Is there a slight delay, like with voice recogniton?

Re: Are there specific games that work best with SmartNav?

<t>I'm finished Half Life 2 (and following episodes), Portal, Doom 3 and I'm just about to finish Halo, all with SmartNav. It's excellent for Neverwinter Nights too.<br/> <br/> For best hands free results, use pedals (like the optional one for the smartnav, or the FragPedal Elite II) and voice recog...

Also don't forget the gravity feature- Smartnav is smart enough to find buttons and things for you.

<r>Far be it from me to claim a monopoly on helping people, natekh. Advise away <E>:)</E><br/> <br/> I've also found that footpedals can be tricky because when you press with your foot you tend to move your head. The FragPedals I have use solid-state buttons (ie the button doesn't press down), which...

Re: RSI gamer

<t>Yep, things are going great. With the SmartNav (running TrackIR software and mouse emulation), gaming foot pedals handling WASD, and Voice Buddy doing the rest, I'm sweet. Got all the way through Half Life 2 and its two sequels, currently 2/3 of the way through Doom 3. I'm not as good as I was pr...

Re: Users please talk about your experience with smartn

1. How do you compare accuracy with a regular mouse? Slightly less accurate, but only slightly. Not enough to play first person shooters with your friends and expect to waste them, but enough to get through half life 2 on single player. Sometimes you have to concentrate to resize a window or click ...
