Thanks. I got the stereo cable but I didn't plug it into the SmartNAV for a couple of reasons. I plugged it into the Y cable and the egg switch into the extension cable and it works as it should.

Extension cable for egg switch
I have purchased an egg switch to use with my SmartNAV but the cable is short. To extend the length will any 3.5mm audio/video extension cable work?

This fixed the problem. I can now execute a "warm" boot and SmartNAV comes up tracking and working fine. Thanks

I have removed SP3 from my system and the problem still exist with SmartNAV4. The HP printer problem went away but not the SmartNAV4. I tried the isolation suggestion with no success. Any suggestions?

It's not mentioned in the manual and I went through the FAQs before I posted the question. It appears you don't have a SmartNav4 or you would have known it's not in the manual.
