Re: TrackClip project
Sorry, I thought you could switch off the LEDs in both modes. As far as I know at this time, all you might be able to do is decrease the intensity in Track Clip mode. I'd love to find out how to turn them off. Just a quick question: Have you tried using the hat with LEDs with he Pro Clip setting? I...

Re: TrackClip project
So mike, how are you turning off those LEDs when selecting the Track Clip Pro? If they can be turned off by software, there has to be a way to alter the INI file, like you had previously proposed. I looked at the INI file and did find that the line with the LEDs turned to '0' when the Pro was select...

Re: TrackClip project
I am attempting to turn the on-board LEDs off for one major reason: to prevent current drain produced by powering the 4 LEDs, and the resultant heat produced by the LED power. More than one person has told me that there IS a heat build-up when using those LEDs. And that could lead to an early failur...

Re: TrackClip project
Appreciate it, Mike. It might just be me, but it seems that the 3-point horizontal cap set-up works better than the vertical.
I'll be waiting for your findings.

Re: TrackClip project
Reading the threads up here, I have noticed the problem (?) of sensitivity with the TrackClip Pro as compared with the TrackClip, and I think my hat solves that problem. Using both, the hat does seem to make movements smoother. It is annoying to have the view continually move. I have also set up the...

Re: Pro Clip LEDs remain ON
This will work very nicely (I am using one right now): http://www.amazon.com/Rayovac-Charger-Batteries-Included-PS73-4B/dp/B00D2ZQ6ZI It uses 4 AA cells and has a USB charging port, so you can plug your headset in as usual without using the adapter for the TrackClip Pro. Then when you want to use th...

Re: TrackClip project
I tried to ZIP the 640x480 pics (7), but the size, 1.8Mb still is way over the 256Kb limit up here. If you give me an e-mail, I'll send them to you. You can e-mail me at *******@*******.com.
Hope you can figure out how to shut off the onboard LEDs.

Re: TrackClip project
Well, Mike, I finished the project. I used a Radio Shack 4-AA battery pack with an On/Off switch, a 33-ohm quarter-watt resistor, and 3 720-SFH485P IR 880nm LEDs, wired in series. I used 20-2 thermostat wire because it was solid, not stranded, so it was easier to shape into the hat. I used a short c...

Re: TrackClip project
Mike, I'm going to take pictures as I go on this, and I'll be glad to upload them to this thread. I do have questions, though, on the type of TrackClip and the use of the IR LEDs in the TrackIR camera. I have downloaded the manual and noticed that the light level of the onboard IR LEDs can be adjust...
