Re: FIGHT!

Hmm, interesting.

I may be being dense here, so feel free to tell me to RTFM, but I'm not entirely clear on how you'd get the Arena software to add new objects - like a sword - to the basic skeleton?

Re: Success! And more questions: capture area, pose, et

<r>OK, we've been playing around with the setup, and we've managed to get about a 10' - 11' diameter circle capture area, which is pretty usable, but still not as big as we'd like. <br/> <br/> What we've currently got are the 12 cameras set up in a hexagon which is 28" across at the widest point. I ...

FIGHT!

<r>OK, we're getting on well enough with our Arena system that it's time to think about the hard bits of what we want to do with it. Namely, fighting. <br/> <br/> How would you guys advise/recommend capturing two-person weapon fighting using Arena? We're probably going to be using longswords (what m...

First rough test - (bad) Muay Thai

<r>As promised, here's a quick render of our first clean mocap from yesterday - nothing we're using for a project, just me doing some (ropy - Tony Jaa I ain't) Thai boxing moves to test the speed of the system. <br/> <br/> Works pretty well! We lose the foot at one point, but that's about it, and th...

Re: Success! And more questions: capture area, pose, etc.

<t>Aha! Interesting. I was wondering if we could point the cameras slightly down to, effectively, where you're suggestiing. Reckon that would increase capture area a fair bit. <br/> <br/> 2) Anything to watch for on the arm marker placement? We've been following the videos, which may not have been i...

Success! And more questions: capture area, pose, etc.

<t>First up, a huge thanks to the Naturalpoint team for shepherding Strange Company through the setup of our Arena system so far. We've now got our first piece of nice, clean capture out of it (which I'll render and put on the Videos page tomorrow), and it's a wonderful feeling. <br/> <br/> Second -...

Truss or Tripod?

Another question about 12-camera setup.

Assuming you've got the flexibility to either do a truss or a tripod setup for a 12-camera system, which will give a larger capture area and/or better results in the capture, particularly of two people?
