Re: Experience with very long takes (~100 min)

Hello msb, Thank you for reaching out to the community regarding the recording of large files in Motive. A couple of versions ago, we did some development to improve the reliability of Motive when recording long takes. The last this was tested, I believe we had recorded takes that were hours in leng...

Re: Generating precise local coordinate system for a rigid b

Hello Craig, Thank you for using OptiTrack and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your questions. There are tools available that allow you to adjust the position and orientation of the rigid body's pivot point. I would suggest a workflow in which you snap the pivot point to a marker that is ...

Re: Behavior of Matlab client + SimpleServer

Hello zeno06, Thank you for reaching out to the community. It sounds like your understanding of the two functions is correct. SendMessageAndWait will wait for a response and will return it. SendMessage will not return a response. The data sent by the server does not buffer, so only the last sent fra...

Re: USB (cable) problems

Hello Jeroen, It sounds like you have stuck with our general guidelines regarding USB system setup. In most cases, you can connect up to 2 active extenders for a total of roughly 15 meters. The only stipulation is that no extenders can be used between the hub and the camera. To be honest, some of yo...

Re: Why my yaw values error?

Hi Shusen, This question comes up often, so we have looked into the rotation values many times and have found that everything is working as expected when it comes to the reported angles. Euler angles can be deceiving. They may appear to be off in value, but applying the result shows the actual visua...

Hello kicsisimo, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your questions. When you are connecting with the WinFormTestApp and the MotionBuilder plugins, do you have a rigid body or any other 3D data tracking inside of ARENA? Could you post a screenshot of your stream settings in ARENA? Also, what ...

Re: Can't export skeleton animations with certain markersets

Hello jan, I am also using Motive 1.9 Final 64bit, and I just tested this workflow. I created an Upper Body + Fingers skeleton, Reconstructed the take, then exported an FBX Binary. When I open the FBX in MotionBuilder, my upper body skeleton is fully animated. This functionality seems to be working ...

Re: Building C-Wrapper für .Net

Hi Meldur, Since we worked through this on help.naturalpoint.com I wanted to close out this topic and confirm the resolution. Initialization of Ethernet devices requires a bit more code compared to USB cameras. The main problem is surrounding the usage of WaitForInitialization(). USB cameras are 'co...

Re: NPTrackingTools new dll version problem

Hi Etienne, Thank you for reaching out to the community regarding your questions. I am using Motive 1.9, and the TT_RigidBodyCount() function is still available. Have you tried looking at the markers.cpp example that installs with Motive? (Motive\Samples\markers\) There are sections in this sample c...

Re: Disabling Motive API log messages

Hello mtmike,

Thank you for sharing your workaround here.

There is currently a bug in the API that is causing more output than is necessary. This will be fixed in the next release, so you should see an improvement then.

Cheers,
Steven
