Timestamps in Rigid Body VRPN streaming

It seems that the timestamps in the streamed VRPN from the Rigid Body Tool are always zero. This can be seen if you take the VRPN client application from here: http://www.naturalpoint.com/optitrack/support/downloads.html#streaming Direct link to the zip file: http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/O...

Re: How large are Rigid Body tracking latencies?

Just did a complete uninstall of all OptiTrack software -- c:\Program Files\NaturalPoint only contained some directories with examples that I'd extracted to there manually. I left them in place. I did, however, remove c:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\OptiTrack\License\ and its contents. Then I download...

Re: How large are Rigid Body tracking latencies?

I just did... I think. Twice. I'll uninstall everything first and start from scratch, then. Thanks!

Re: How large are Rigid Body tracking latencies?

Going off on a tangent here, but since it's my own topic... I can't get the RigidBody-Sample application to work. I've modified the main part to accurately measure FPS, so that it looks like the following: int mFrameCounter=0; NPRESULT result; LARGE_INTEGER ticksPerSec, ticks, prevTicks; QueryPerfor...

<t>It's a GeForce 4... not a very obscure card, I'd say, although not the most modern. More detailed system specs, that I deemed irrelevant before your previous remark:<br/> - Windows XP SP2 fully up to date<br/> - DirectX 9.0c<br/> - NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE, 128MB<br/> - ForceWare release 90 dri...

<r>
Also, as a general question, 6 cameras is considered minimum--with 8 recommended (and 12 even better)--but is anybody having success with 6?
<br/> Keep in mind that the V100 cameras have a view angle of only 45 degrees. That is giving me trouble since I am working in a relat...

Re: How large are Rigid Body tracking latencies?

<t>For system specs, see the start post.<br/> <br/> Tough question about the versions... I don't have the installers anymore, the "about" screens do not tell me the programs' versions, the metadata in the .exe is all zeros. Re: How large are Rigid Body tracking latencies?

Latency still "feels" like 100 ms, at least. The Rigid Body Tool is constantly using 100% of the CPU. Also, if I make an export of tracker data (CSV format), rigid bodies are only detected in half to one third of the frames; the rest just shows the separate markers only: frame, frame_numbe...

Camera synchronization protocol

<t>How does the synchronization mechanism work? Is it possible to "take over" the clock from the "master" camera and supply our own synchronization pulse? What does such a pulse look like?<br/> <br/> I'm asking this because we're planning to use the OptiTrack system with (at least) six V100's in a C...

Re: VRPN functionality

<r>Amir,<br/> <br/> You can download the VRPN source code from here:<br/> <URL url="http://www.cs.unc.edu/Research/vrpn/">http://www.cs.unc.edu/Research/vrpn/</URL><br/> Simply open the vrpn.sln solution file in Visual C++ (works in Express as well) and do a Release build. You'll get a DLL in pc_win...
