Re: proper lighting of mocap area?
stay away from halogen. lots of IR generated by them.

Re: Units of SetExposure method
Also, keep in mind: There are specific types of lighting that are designed to work with high frequency shutters. They are typically used in film making.
Specifically: HMI lights and Kino Flo lights. Kino Flo in particular is primarily designed to deal with shutter issues.

Re: Camera sdk tracking wrong, why?
Full transformation matrix is required, not just rotation matrix.

takes recall which objects are active
<t>currently, an individual take (pt2 file) forgets what objects (rigids and skeletons) were active and tracking when the file was created. This makes it tedious to do batch processing as rigids and skeletons don't turn themselves on and off as you move from take to take. If we could save the knowle...

Re: V100 optical center
sigh... nevermind. Was a bug in my solver. now fixed.
Discovered it when my synthetic wanding system (it pretends to be a mocap system and creates wand data as if it were coming from a system) started solving the same offset.

Re: Intrinsics camera parameters
<t>btw... also:<br/> <br/> The 3 marker wand calib uses the same premise as a checkerboard calibration. the difference is that checkboard calibrations have uniformly spaced verticies that create non-overlapping line segments. The wand technique provides much much more line segments than the checkerb...

Re: Intrinsics camera parameters
<t>Doug, can you go the other way around? Say... calibrate intrinsics first thing of the day. save that calibration. Then, adjust camera placement... load up the saved calib with the already solved intrinsics and then run a calibration of extrinsics? Cameras get bumped.... run another extrinsic solv...

Re: Blue-sky question - ever possible to get 30' capture?
<t>That seams feasible. Though its probably not possible in Arena. No SDK.<br/> <br/> Hybrid mocap systems are always interesting but I keep coming back to optical for real production work. I don't like the idea of putting expensive hardware on the actor, who most certainly needs to roll around on t...
