The LED's do stay on all the time they are plugged into your USB socket. I have had mine sice it came out and they still work perfectly.
WOW was my first reaction when I swapped over from the clip and no comment from the dot's that used to come whith your TIR.

Are you using the software on the disk or off the NP site? It is always a good idea to use the web based software.

The TrackClip Pro should make a difference. It did with my TIR4.

TrackIR does not work from the nose or bonet/hood views unfortunatly in GTR2.
It is worth getting used to the cockpit and TIR as TIR adds so much to the game.
