Hi JSJ... you have tested an no issues. Are you using the TIR4 or a TIR3? I changed my screen to 16 bit and still get the CTD. I have tried in 'training' only so far - was not going to try to join a race until i successfully got it working.
I can not remember all the parameters i have changed, but i do have the 65 mod installed, along with GEM+ and GEM+2, and the GPLEA carsets, the soundpatch, Pribluda, GPLDigital Display Modifier, etc... its been a long time in building.
regarding the rastd3d7.dll, i am running v1.0.0.1 dated May 9, 2004, created by Sierra On-line
i am currently running GEM+ - not using the 65 patch. GEM+ modifies the gpl.exe file. i have tested with an original GPL.exe file and have the same results.
The only thing that i can possibly blame is some difference between TIR3 and TIR4
