I thought I would start this topic for those who are using 6DOF in GTR so that NP only have one place to look for feed back.
After a couple of days of running GTR with the Vector here is some feed back. Some of this might be down to the 4.0.22 or it could be down to GTR (International not the German patched).
Off line.
With my profile which I am willing to send if anyone wants it, I find that 6DOF is running smooth with everything maxed out at 1280x1024 on a Asus P4C800-E_Delux, PIV 3.2, BFG6800U OC, 4gig of DDR, Audigy 2zs. I am running XP SP2 and all the latest drivers (inc BIOS) I have run GTR for 6 hours straight to see if there would be any problems appearing.
So far the only thing I have noticed, is that if you have the 'seat' right back and then lean back it is possible to have your 'head' further back than the cockpit is modeled. I find that the limit ingame of your aloud angle for your field of view is a little on the narrow side. By this I mean that you cannot even look 90deg from either side of dead centre. I would rather see implemented that you cannot lean so far back but had a wider range of vision from straight ahead. This would make the use of TIR of more use than is at present implemented.
Online
Tonight after about an hour of online usage I was finding that the scan was not as smooth as single player. The longer that you used TIR the more ragged the tracking became. I do not know if this is down to GTR or the TIR drivers. I am mentioning this here just incase.
Over all now that I am getting use to TIR again in GTR, that the amount of difference that 6DOF is making, is like comparing No TIR against TIR (2DOF). This is a major step forward for the use of TIR, which once the few kinks are ironed out cold make TIR as invaluable to driving games/sims as it is in flight sims.

Re: 6DOF Feedback
I'm getting along great with 6DOF, very pleased I got the TIR & Vector.
I found this in the [ Controls ] section of the .plr
TrackIR Pitch Down Limit="-0.15000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.15
TrackIR Pitch Up Limit="0.05000" // Min: 0, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.05
TrackIR Yaw Left Limit="-0.40000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.40
TrackIR Yaw Right Limit="0.40000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.40
TrackIR Roll Left Limit="-0.07500" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.075
TrackIR Roll Right Limit="0.07500" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.075
TrackIR Move Left Limit="-0.05000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.05

TrackIR Move Back Limit="0.25000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.25
If you edit he yaw numbers you can look further left and right, if you go too far you start seeing the plain black back of the cockpit though

Re: 6DOF Feedback
I just found out why 6dof feel so strange in GTR for me. For example, when I reach the limit for "pitch up" GTR continues reading the movement of me head and think that I move my head up. When I extend the "pitch up" value in .plr file it works much better.
I'm still adjusting the other values but heres an example of my config.
TrackIR Pitch Down Limit="-0.16000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.15
TrackIR Pitch Up Limit="0.16000" // Min: 0, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.05
TrackIR Yaw Left Limit="-0.60000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.40
TrackIR Yaw Right Limit="0.60000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.40
TrackIR Roll Left Limit="-0.08500" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.075
TrackIR Roll Right Limit="0.08500" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.075
TrackIR Move Left Limit="-0.15000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.05
TrackIR Move Right Limit="0.15000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.05
TrackIR Move Down Limit="-0.15000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.05
TrackIR Move Up Limit="0.12000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.03
TrackIR Move Forward Limit="-0.25000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.25
TrackIR Move Back Limit="0.25000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.25
And know you can't move this much in race car, but hey its only a game

Re: 6DOF Feedback
DB, thanks for the adjustments. That extra bit of yaw counters the one problem that I had with TIR implementation. I can now look far enough around if I spin off so that I can see what is comming an not endanger or ruin another drivers race, just because of SMIDSI.
The more that I play especially online, TIR is becomming more and more invaluable, especially with the Vector.
