Hello,
When playing GTR Racing with the TrackIR 3 pro (without vector) and a Thrustmaster racing wheel, ingame the wheel isn't stable when standing still (and driving).
The wheel moves by itself a bit to the left and to the right... When unplugging the TrackIR usb, the wheel is stable!
Anyone got an explanation?
Regards,

Re: TIR3pro combined with Racing wheel
Hi I use the TM RGT wheel ( the 5 axis one) and am using FFD2006_1 from the TM web sight with the latest TIR software and I am not having any troubles in GTL at all.
If you are not using the FDD2006 it is worth trying as it is not only for the RGT.

Good old Thrustmaster...great products, but lousy driver support.
Try to get the latest DirectX version (at least dec2005), then the latest Windows XP drivers for your racing wheel (does anybody remember the good old T2 wheels ).
Try to disable the proactive view, which anticipates the steering movements, within the options menu.

I would take that as a perfect excuse to get a DFP which is much better
And a Buttkicker gamer to go with it that thing absolutely rocks

Re: TIR3pro combined with Racing wheel
I tried a DFP abd prefered the new TM wheel. The FF is not as harsh on sudden pickup due to the belt drive on the RGT and generally feels smoother. I also prefer the pedals compaired to the ones the Logitech support as the springs are stronger.
I never bothered to install the supplied drivers on the CD instead I just used the ones on the TM site (I do that to all drivers). For me though the reall biggy in the RGT's favour I have not had one drop of FF in GTL or GTR and no loss of axis calibratin.
Out of all the general wheels out there I would recomend either the DFP or the RGT for their bearings and feel in game. I am not going to say anything about the Logitech pedals though

Re: TIR3pro combined with Racing wheel
I guess all TrackIR user tend to have special pc hardware needs
I tried Thrustmaster, Logitech and Microsoft wheels.
My wheel of choice would always be MS Sidewinder FF Wheel, but good old MS said NO to continue their gaming hardware
Best FF effects and compatibility
Never ever any decalibration or of-centering
Compact and sturdy design
In addition to that wheel, I use ACT Labs performance pedals (incl. clutch) and their USB-shifter.
In combination with TrackIR, I would say a PERFECT combination for ALL car simulations.
Funny thing: All (except TrackIR ) of my special hardware isn't produced anymore, such as
MS FF Wheels and FF Joysticks
MS Gamevoice
Logitech iFeel MouseMan
ACT Labs Racing pedals and shifters
Sad...very sad...there would be a market for all that stuff, although the mass market is only price orientated and no hardware geeks

Re: TIR3pro combined with Racing wheel
I totally agreee about the dissapearing of some of the major specialist hardware, and M$. I agree that M$ hardware is some of the best hardware especially their joysticks (I never liked the notch in their wheel though.) and Game Commander.
I tried to get an ACT labs wheel and pedal but they had stopped producing them, which is why I went for the TM wheel as the RGT is also belt driven. ACTLabs are going to start making new shifters, so as soon as I can get the together and sweet talk the wife...............
I think getting specialist hardware is done by a lot of simmers because they see thier gaming as a hobby. This is one thing that casual gamers do not get, that simmers spend on hardware to play a game, but they do not think of how much more that hardware enhances the experience.
I forgot my Cougar and CH pedals

Re: TIR3pro combined with Racing wheel
I just ordered GTL and am looking forward to driving it with my TrackIR3-vector setup.
I have a Logitech feedback Momo wheel/peddals which I found to be superior to the MS & ThrustMaster wheels in every way.
I've had no problem in the past setting it up with the NFS set, Sierra GP Legends, etc.
Has any one here got a MOMO wheel and using it with GTR or GTL?
Thanks,
