using with non-smartnav foot switches?

Post by rutt »

Hello, prospective smartnav buyer here. I might want more than 2 foot switches to control tasks like left/right click, pause, centering, etc., so can the smart nav models be used with external USB foot switches bought elsewhere? (e.g. kinesis). I'm thinking maybe a total of 6 switches, 3 for left foot, 3 for right. Thanks.

Hi Benjamin,

Our USB Dual Foot switches are the same you would get from Kinesis and are completely compatible with the SmartNAV. In general any USB switch will work just fine with the SmartNAV.

If you want to do SmartNAV centric commands like pause, center, etc.. you would need to go through the switch input jack on the unit or program your usb footpedals to a hotkey and bind the hotkey in the SmartNAV software to the function you would like.

Please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Best,
Kevin
