I have a possible application for a SmartNav device. I need to control a computer which is inside an explosion-proof housing used in an underground mine environment. The SmartNav device would be inside of the explosion-proof housing looking out through a 3/4" thick lexan window.
To complicate matters, the operator might have many reflective stickers on his hard hat as well as a light. The environment would be very dusty.
Would the SmartNav work in this application? Has this ever been done?
New application question
Re: New application question
Hello,
Your application would be best suited for our OptiTrack line of products.
The OptiTrack comes with an SDK which you can use to program any needed functionality and an Infrared camera. Depending on the lighting situation, how many reflective stickers really are present, and what kind of tracking data you need (x,y) or full 6DOF, it may be possible.
We are currently in the middle of releasing a new OptiTrack so I would suggest getting a TrackIR4 (which can be used with the OptiTrack SDK) to do some basic proof of concept testing.
Best,
Kevin
