Smartnav: Fantastic on a PC, not so great on a Mac

Post by cd_albert »

Hi,

I have used the Smartnav for many years on a PC and it's an amazing device... however I have just swapped to a Mac and the software is nowhere near as good.

In absolute mode the cursor wobbles around when your head is still and is pretty much unusable. In relative mode the tracking is not as good and objects in the background often interfere which they do not when I'm using XP on my Mac with the exact same setup.

I know that RJ Cooper is responsible for the software development... but you should know your product is nowhere as good on a Mac as it is on a PC. I e-mailed RJ Cooper more than once airing my concern and have never received a reply. They never seem to update either. Since Snow Leopard the software does odd things like locking into scroll mode.

Great product, but I think you should develop the Mac software yourselves, as the PC software is so much better.
