TrackIR 5 freezing

The device will recognize the headset for a few seconds or a minute, then it freezes and stops moving, the green light on the camera goes out and the "camera" display on the screen has red streaked lines through it.
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit SP1
software version 5.2.2 final

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, past versions of the software and unplugging and replugging the device to install the driver.

Do these just give out after a while? I've had it for three years.

I tried to uninstall it again. After uninstalling through Windows the shortcut icon was still on my desktop. I clicked on it and it launched the program. In Windows Control Panel TrackIR5 is not listed. Yet it's running. And it worked fine. So I reinstalled version 5.2.2 as administrator this time. It seems to work now.

Sharpe, can you look at the Camera display for me again? Are the red streaked lines still visible? Your imager could be going out. I am happy to hear you have this working now.
