Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
Ok guys, I had a TIR1 in 2.12(I think, it was the last one b4 3.0) I downloaded 3.0 and everything went to hell. I then bought TIR2 and with 3.03 its the same. Here is my problem.
When I try to stop my panning I get a jittery movement with is not smooth as it was in 2.12 with TIR1. I notice it on the motion deal as well. The dot cannot stay still.
I have removed all of the 2.12, 3.00, and 3.01 prior to the installation of 3.03 and the new TIR2. I emailed you guys and got some help with that already.
How can I stop this jerking movement?
I have it in the correct usb port as well.
Thanks, I hope you guys can help, I almost wish I had never gotten the new TIR2. Its probably something I did but its definitely worse than what I previously had.
I have a new system with a 9800 ATI card.

Re: Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
Weird - I just noticed the same thing in the last couple of days - although I thought it was because of the 4.1 CATs I just installed. Did you guys just install new video drivers?
I'm having the same problem, when I come to a stop (either panning left or right) - it will jitter a bit. Never noticed this before.
Funny, cause I was coming here to download the latest drivers to see if it would make a difference!

Re: Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
Hello:
I am reading the posts, don't worry, just checking it out on our own systems first, before posting back.
Is the motion smooth and real time when you are moving around, or is it always jerky? Is it only jerky when you hold still?
You should be fine with a smoothing value of 75, if it is tracking a nice target in the Data Window.
We know that version 3.02 had some smoothing problems, but 3.03 should have fixed those issues.

Thanks Jim!
Great product by the way - I talk it up to whoever I can.
(They still don't believe it actually works until I show them!)
I'll dl the latest drivers and try out the smoothing and let you know tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Re: Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
Well that seems to have done the trick. Works real smooth now (have it set to 85) - actually I think it's the best it's ever looked. Thanks.
(I'm going to try it out with LOMAC now (above test with IL2:FB))

Re: Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
No didn't do it for me i did tyr all the smoothness as possible . Using the hat with extra dot on it
It is jerky when i move around. not still.
I want my track ir 2( 3.0.3) to be as my mouse panning..
That why i got it. and it's how it should work .
Hum !maybe i'm wrong..
Try this test , ingame pan around with and with out the track ir2. you'll see
I don't know what do you call smooth but it's not enough to me.
85 is smoother than 120?
is there a setting to actually increase the sampling?
SO what is the solution? THX
ATI 4.1/ 9800 pro 256 mb/ XP 3000/1G DDR 433.

Re: Jittery in 3.03 w/ TIR2
Hello:
120 is more smoothing that 80.
On most all setups we are as smooth as a mouse with a TrackIR2, which samples at 100Hz fixed.
Some people don't have as smooth a setup simply because of other problems, like graphics cards or USB sub systems. A good way to check up on us is to use the TrackIR in Mouse Emulation mode, on your desktop. If you have nice smooth control of your cursor on the desktop then it should also be smooth in the game. Hence it is the game setup that has a problem. If the cursor motion is not smooth, then it is something else, like a software setup or dot setup problem with our system. Let's try and break down where the problem is occuring.
