Jerky motion

Post by Lollypop »

Hello, all of you!

Since few days, i have erratic response from track ir: A good screen will tell far better than my poor english so...

The green dot seems to be "poor", "in low resolution", ...Something like that.
It leads to jerky motion especially with the pitch rotation. Indeed, Yaw remains smooth.

I tried to modify distance, lightings, reflective dot... No result

I had this trouble yet, few days ago... and it vanished!
I add that all worked prefectly before.
Before What? That would be my Q! _??????_

If somebody has an idea: I'm waiting for! Thks by now.

Lollypop, does your dot size always defaultto 50 o is it something you set ?

I would recomend either 100 or 200 and see how that goes.

Nope, The current dot is... the current one: That's not due to a setting.

But i've found solution: Just... "Unplug & plug" of course!!! (.... )
I had green window once or twice, and now this. My second Q would be:

I have to control if it works properly on every start ???

Plug, Unplug, Plug, unplug... Whoahou!! That's a real "Plug and Try" stuff, so!!!

(Please, make a note to the engineers...)

Lollypop a cpuple of things.

Is the TIR plugged into a HUB (powered or not)? If so I would sugest that you put it in a main USB port on your computer on it's own.

Is the software saving your prefered dot size if you make it 100?

Lollypop,

Please carry out a complete un-install of your TrackIR software. Prior to any re-install delete the NaturalPoint folder on your C drive.

Barred is correct, ensure that you are not connected through a hub.

If the problem remains please let me know.

The dot size is always on 100. (I've just tried to change several times this setting and it keeps it, so..)

Trckir is directly connected on the mobo (Asus A7N8X-E), through the fourth connection. (Scan+deskjet+Joystick+Tir) Too many devices?

I will then try to reinstall tir...

Thanks for your supports, Mister Barred and Wayne!

Don't worry about too many devices either Lollypop, I have 8 USB devices hooked up with no problem.

Printer
Joystick
Throttle
Pedals
wireless gamepad
FFB headphones
TIR
Mouse

Same here Charvel, I have between 4-8 depending on what I am doing (wether I am in games or work mode). It is not the amount but how they are connected that makes the difference. I always give the high data devices their own port.

The 3Pro seems to draw 300mA and a hotas around 100-150mA, so whats drawing juice and how much is available (many usb ports are 400mA max) is kinda relevant.
So powered, rather than unpowered, hubs please, gentlemen.
