The 4.0.23 joystick button is a great idea..... but it doesn't work with my Guillemot Racing Wheel ForceFeedback.
Meanwhile, my MS FF Joystick works perfect, i can assign a button for centering the TIR.
Any idea ?
I am frustrating because using buttons is usefull using a racing wheel, because we are often far away the keyboard.
Beta 4.0.23 problem
Re: Beta 4.0.23 problem
To add to the wheels that do work with the Dx assignment of buttons, Logitech Momo Force+BRD speed7 pedals.

Paraglandeur,
I am not familiar with the wheel that you described, I have to make do with the Microsoft version at home.
Does your wheel come with a software interface very much like the Microsoft version where it will allow you to assign specific keys. This has worked on mine with no issues.

Re: Beta 4.0.23 problem
1rst, thanks for yout quick answer
2nd : no, i can't assign action to specifics key. The racing wheel interface is quite simple : calibrate axes, test buttons, and set the FF forces.
If it can help you : this racing wheel is okay with alls games (olds and new) like GPL, Viper Racing, F1 Racing, and the GTR Demo.
You can find product info in this page :
http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.ph ... d=33&cid=6
The correct product name is
"Thrustmaster Force Feedback Racing wheel"
Perhaps you can contact the Thrustmaster's technical service... I think that this whhel doesn't use DirectX standard button assignement, and use there own driver.
Thank for helping us (and apologies my poor english language)

Re: Beta 4.0.23 problem
Wayne, looking at the Thustmaster web site, i found a programm called "Thrustmapper" witch is intend to assign various actions to buttons - I'll install and test it this night, and send you feedback.
Re: Beta 4.0.23 problem
Eric Davidson from NaturalPoint has looked at the problem, see topic:
http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ ... 5;t=000174
Using a test version it works now with my Momo Wheel.
Hopefully a new version will be available soon that fixes the wheel button problem.

Great, Eric Davidson's programm fix works fine.
My racing wheel's buttons are all functionals.
Good job. Thanks a lot.
