Thanks v much Vincent!

My friend and I repositioned the chair/desk and monitor so it sits above me now and my eyes are not on the same level.

Also, turning off the BLUE [enhanced mode] LED which seemed to stop the after-image immediately..

anyway, thanks for the fast response.

You are looking at a thread that was originally created in 2003, so some of the information will not apply to your current model.

The IR 5 does not have a blue LED

The active/enhanced modes were part of the TrackIR 3 software release.

For the IR 5, when you start a gaming application, and the TrackIR detects the application, it auto-enables enhanced mode.

Enhnaced mode is direct TrackIR support within a gaming application beyond basic mouse control.

This mode is also called absolute mode, because while in it, a game can track head
movement anywhere within the TrackIRs field of view, even if it has moved beyond the
edge of the screen. For instance, while looking around in the Microsoft Flight Simulator
virtual cockpit, get up from your chair and sit down again. As long as you are sitting in a
position similar to the one you were before the TrackIR will be able to find the center of
the cockpit again without hitting the re-center key (F12 by default).
