Mounting TrackIR on a LCD monitor

Post by Chef-Scott »

I've used the mounting clip, and the sticky foam only holds for so long. Would I get better "long term" results with the use of 3M sticky foam, velcro or Duct Tape (Red Green would be proud of the last one!). But all bad Duct Tape jokes aside what do you use to attach your TrackIR to your LCD?

Edit:
Let me expand on my question and a good solution, I was using the supplied clip to attach to the top of my LCD monitor. But after a short time the adhesive gave up. I have read all the threads here on mounting. So I have hit upon what I feel is a good solution... 3M Command strips. So far it is holding the clip tight, and should I ever rearrange I just pull the tab on the strip and it releases the clip. Hope this can help others.

It actually depends on how you mount it. I used the standard clip provided and never have had it fall off or lose grip. I'll try and take an image of it and post it here so you can see how I setup the unit.

This is how I have mine mounted with the included clip. I am now using a 3M Release strip to hold the clip in place.
