I have TrackIR with Vector expansion and the latest version of TrackIR4. I'm suffering judder vision! Nearly all the time when I'm using Track IR the whole picture is juddering ever so slightly - until I put in a control input when it judders a lot! At first I thought it was particularly good turbulance modelling, but now I don't think so. I've tried different aircraft, different airports, different profiles and un and re-installing the software (unplugging the TRack IR religiously as I go). It's really unusable at the moment. Any ideas as to what may be causing it?

Does this still happen without TrackIR running?

No, it doesn't; as soon as I take off my Track IR hat and move it out of range then use the oystick tophat, the virtual cockpit is as steady as a rock. It just happens with TrackIR, and the juddering seems to be more in the horizontal axis.

No, belayy that, it's in no particular axis - it's just juddery!

Just to make sure I understand what's happening - with the Vector on, the screen is super sensative, with the view jumping about - sometimes just a little bit, sometimes a lot, but it's never really steady.

Is that right?

If so, try these two things:

1) Move the unit a bit further back from you, an arm and a half's length works best for me, and put it to where you're staring right into the four lighted red dots of the unit.

2) Cock the hat back slightly on your head. I have found that most of my tracking problems are derived from the hat being too low on my forehead (occupational hazard from being a Soldier).

This problem also comes up with non-Vector TIR units. A squaddie of mine was having all sorts of tracking problems with his TIR 1 and I suggested he just cock his hat back a bit before digging into profiles and stuff - to his amazement, bringing the dot up a quarter of an inch by adjusting the hat slightly made everything rock solid.
