Hello,

I have been using the TrackIR 4 Pro with clip-on using FSX and Vista 32 for a month or so. No problems occured.

Version 4.1 build 36

I am now trying it on a newly installed Windows 7 system with FSX already installed up to Acceleration.

The TrackIR software installed (as administrator) with no complaints.

When I start TrackIR pro with FSX up and running it has crashed and when it does not crash it sees no devices.

The problem I may be having is that Windows 7 does not see the devices. If I unplug the USB connector nothing happens and when I re-insert the USB into another USB 2 port the OS does not see anything.

Any suggestions?

I am having the exact same problem. Windows doesn't seem to see the device. Tried a number of different ports including a PCI USB 2.0 add in card

Today something different happened.

When I started Windows 7 it advised me that the TrackIR software had been installed.

I tested it and sure enough the TrackIR was working.

Sounds like a detection issue with the USB drivers, on the motherboard.

Agreed but I have a USB Keyboard/Mouse, and 5 joysticks all working happily atm. Seems odd only Track IR wouldn't go. Plus I tried it on my USB PCI add-in card as well to rule out motherboard.

Could be several things, in the ens -

1 - Windows 7 is still a beta OS, and therefore still in the development stage

2 - Power issue across the USB port, as a keyboard/mouse/joystick are lower powered USB devices, when compared to the TrackIR 4 and therefore may work ok, when compared to each other.

Yah may be the beta thing.

Don't think it's a power issue. I've tried 3 different root hubs now. However I'll check windows power settings when I get home. I know there are some USB options in there.

I can try another powered hub as well.

All part of the fun of a new os :P

Wow just tried it on 3 computers and it seems like my Track IR 4 died somewhere along the way :(.

1. win7 will be released anyway ppl
2. i have different problem in win7057, wherever i put my trackir4 its saying "...device can perform faster on usb 2.0...", but i know for sure wich port i have is usb 1.1 or usb 2.0.
