This happend when I tried to update to 1.22. Installation as per instructions, when FS2002 restarts and F8 is required to start the VC moving and stop the cursor moving, the cursor stops but the VC does as well.

I. E. The trackIR fails in VC mode but works fine in the cursor.

HELP - Have tried reinstalls, deletions, etc etc.

I managed to reinstall 1.21 last time and get it to work, not this time ??

This is a strange one. So, the cursor action works fine, in normal mode, then when you enter the game and hit the Mode Hotkey (f8 by default) the cursor stops moving and the VC does not engage? If that is true it sounds like a problem registering the trackIR.DLL file. If nothing happens at all, then I would reassign the Hotkey and see if that works. Let me know.

Did a complete HD reinstall of XP and 2002, a bit drastic but it worked, you are right I think there is a DLL recognition issue when drivers are updated, either the TrackIR or FS2002.
