Please help - USB driver not found

Hello,
I have a TrackIR3 that used to work perfectly. About 1 year ago, it suddenly stopped being recognized and on every reboot I see a brief flash from the sys tray indicating: USB driver not found.

So now, the only way I can get my device to work is to completely uninstall the SW, then reinstall. When I plug my TrackIR3 into the USB port (never matters which one) it is recognized, the drivers install fine, and it works...until I reboot, then it isn't functioning and the TrackIR application states: "No device found".

I have downloaded the NPREGFIX.exe and when it runs it states: "No devices detected that needed to be fixed", even after a fresh install when the TrackIR is working...
I am using the ver 4.1 build 37 of the SW
My device serial# is 23520

I have this issue even after a fresh OS install, etc
Please help,
Regards,
Robert

Vince,
would you mind posting an answer in here. I have a similar situation happening with Windows7 and Vista , TIR3 with VE and it says

No devices detected that needed to be fixed"

this is with V4.1.037 with fresh install

So the device drivers are not detected, for the camera after a system reboot?

Are you connecting directly to the PC, or using a hub?

Laptop, or desktopm system?

Does this issue occur with another PC?

Do you have the latest motherboard bios installed?

I'm having a similar problem and also need help with this, please.

I've installed v4.1.037 on my brand new Windows 7 system, Intel i7-920 desktop PC.

When I plug in the TrackIR 3(?) (serial: 010276) into USB port (both directly into the PC and via a powered hub), the system searches for the driver and then reports "Device driver software was not successfully installed"; "Unidentified Device" and "No driver found" in the resulting dialog box.

It was working fine in my old Windows XP Pro system previously.

Can someone please help resolve this please? Thank you in advance!

OK, the reason your PC is not detecting the drivers fo rthis camera, is that you have a TrackIR 2 camera, not a TrackIR 3.

The 4.1.037 software doews not have support for the TrackIR 2.

That last version of the TrackIR software, which has support for the TrackIR 2 camera, is version 3.13. Which can be located here -

http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... ls-v3.html

* Note that the 3.13 software does not have support for Windows 7.

Hi Vincent

Thank you for your reply.

At least I've clarified that my device is a version 2 instead of 3.

However, since it can only use the 3.13 software, and its not compatible with Windows 7, what can you suggest I do (apart from upgrading my TrackIR!)?

Unfortunately, since this is a Windows 7 system that you are using, there isn't anything that can be done. The IR2 software/hardware drivers are not in active development (last release 12/2004)

So it will continue to work in the OS systems it was released for, but just will not have support for any new OS.
