Software 5.1

Hi, I just installed TrackIR software 5.1 for my good old TrackIR 3 with Vector and everything looks very fine now. Even it seems to react a bit faster.

I just DL'd 5.1 and installed it. I have not removed the old version as had used to be required.
Problem I have is that the 5.1 SW is not recognising my TIR3. The older version is still doing so fine.
Any ideas?

You may need to update the driver if its not using npusbio.sys version 2.50.
You can do this by right clicking on the TrackIR in the device manager, selecting update driver, then point it to the Drivers subfolder of the TrackIR 5.1 install directory.

My driver's already up to date 5.1.200 (build 9414)with npusbio.sys 2.50,
but most of the time it does not detect my device when launching the 5.1 software. ("Detecting...No Device detected").
the older drivers works fine.

Connected directly to the PC, or using a hub?
Connected to the PC, thru the TrackClip Pro?
When the TrackIR is not detected in the software, is it still detected in the system device manager?

Connected to PC directly. not through Clip.
It is still detected in device manager even when not detected by software.
The older driver (4.x) always detects it while the new doesn't.
Restarting and retrying mostly solves it but it's not so reliable to handle it this way.

A Microsoft mouse. I have tried relocating it to another port.
same result...
Again, the old software works fine all this time. Device is detected and works as usual.

Are the driver versions changing when you run the older software?
