OK I want to use my old TIR 3. I installed the TrackIR Ver. 5.1.200 software. Plug in the hardware and it doesn't want to install the drivers. I had a look at the device manager and it's showing it as just "USB Device". I'm running XP Pro.
So what's going on. Do I need to run different software? Maybe there's some instructions on the site but I can't find them.
Update:
I took out the 5.1 and put in the original software off the disc. I had to tell it to load the drivers but it did it. Now I get a red light. Device Manager says "natural point". But I can't get it to come on! No green light.

It's an old TIR-3 that I haven't been using for some time now. I grabbed the newest software to start with. But when it didn't want to work I uninstalled that one and put in Ver. 3.12 right of the original disc.
It seems like it tries to turn on when I start up the software because the red light goes out, but then it comes back on again. So I don't know if it's a hardware problem or software. It's been so long since I used it that I don't remember what it should do. I do have it plugged into the PC not a hub. And I did try a different spot. I also use the newest X-keys and a Hotas Cougar.

Do you have the IR reflector within the camera view?
Do you have access to the vector expansion, for the TrackIR 3?
Have you tried using the latest 4.1 software?
