~S! TrackIR,
I'm confused over the software version numbers. We're all awaiting the release of "2.0" and "1.3" is now ready for download.
Am I the only one that don't get it??
I can't wait for the .dll update to IL2 whatever the version is!!!

Re: Software Version Confusion
Current is 1.40.
The next big jump in versions will be to 2.0. My guess is that because it is completly different (algorithims, interface, options ect) that they dont want to make it 1.5, but 2.0 to signify that it really is a whole new product.
I would get 1.40 and use it until 2.0 is released to the public.

Re: Software Version Confusion
Because in software development, major changes typically increment the version number, whereas updates, fixes, etc... do not normally get a full increment.
so... v 2.0 will be a major revision/(maybe even some rewrite I imagine) of the software, whereas version 1.40 fixed some issues with 1.0.
Make sense?

Thanx, Charlie.
You seem to be the only one that understood my question. Maybe I should have been more clear: Why the jump from 1.4 to 2.0???
I had the impression from somewhere in the forum that these were two distinctly different softwares.
