Lights on TrackIR and simulating keyboard with TrackIR?

Post by goldfinger35 »

Hello! New member here.

I have two questions (I hope this is the right sub-forum to post them):
1. Is it possible to deactivate green and blue lights on TrackIR4? They bother me when I play in the dark.
2. Is it possible to simulate key presses with TrackIR? For example, when I lean my head to left, keyboard key x is pressed. When I lean my head to right, keyboard key y is pressed.

Thanks.

Hello -

1: Absolutely. Go to advanced settings - camera tab - and set Status LEDs to "off".

2: Natively, no there is no way to do this. However, we do have some wonderful people in the community who develop 3rd party applications for the TrackIR. One of which is called "Trackmapper" and can assign keystrokes to certain quadrants. It works quite well, and is highly configurable. It can be found on our 3rd party downloads page, here:

Thank you Mike for quick response.
One problem with lights is that blue light keeps blinking every few seconds when TrackIR software is turned off. Any way to turn that off?

Thanks!

Outside of unplugging the camera or masking the light, unfortunately not.
