TrackIR3 Issues

Post by glenmeyers » Mon Jun 27, 2011 3:08 pm

Hi guys. Need some help here please....

This is the first time I'm using a TrackIR. I have a Track IR 3 Pro without vector expansion and using it to fly Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 (patch 1.02 installed). The problem is that I'm unable to look up in the cockpit, well... at least not fully. I can look down and side to side with no problems. Sometimes I can look up and sometimes I can't like when in a dogfight I'm unable to look up fully to see where the bandit is when rolling and reversing a turn like you can do using the default numpad keys. Is it just that I have to get used to the TrackIR movement or is there an issue? (When I test the TrackIR 3 out of the game sometimes the head does not move up and sometimes it does. All other movement works fine.) Another issue is that the default view is very close to the cockpit instruments and I can't see them all. For example.., I cannot see the RWR or the trim and flaps settings. How can I zoom out so that I can see all the cockpit instruments? (BTW, I have installed the latest software drivers and also updated the TrackIR game update thingy that you are supposed to do).

Any advice?? or solutions?

Hello -

You may want to check a few things here:

1: When you look up, are you exiting the field of view of the camera?
2: Would it be possible to adjust the pitch curve to give you faster up movement?

For zoom, you would need either the vector expansion, or a TrackIR 4 or 5.

[color:#FF0000]A: I think you maybe right... I'm tall... so it maybe going out of view.....

2: Would it be possible to adjust the pitch curve to give you faster up movement?

[color:#FF0000]A: No idea by what you mean about pitch curve... but I will check it out in the options... and adjust if possible. If I can adjust what can you suggest I do?

For zoom, you would need either the vector expansion, or a TrackIR 4 or 5.
[color:#FF0000]Is there anything I could do for the in-game options or editing the code so that I could get a better view of the cockpit... (Probably a wrong question in the wrong forum ;) )?

Not sure how you would control the zoom, perhaps there are appropriate commands within the game, or a configurable center of view, but you'd need to talk to the game devs about that one.

Ok I played around with the options and now the head moves up correctly... as it should. I wish I knew how to tweak the cockpit view in LOFC2.... but I guess I will ask that question to LOFC2 tech support. Thanks mike for the response and suggestions. Appreciate it.
