What type of computer do you have? If you leave the task manager up while trying this, what does the processor usage look like?

When the mouse pointer lags, the application to which SmartNAV is hooked is eating 100% of one CPU core.

SmartNAV's mouse cursor is lagging in some windows

Post by Franck Dernoncourt »

Here is the biggest issue I face when using SmartNAV in Microsoft Windows 7: the mouse cursor lags whenever it is hooked within an application which tends to freeze, even slightly (e.g. Windows Explorer, Microsoft Word, etc.). For example, when I want to select a piece of text in Adobe Professional, I use the drag mode of the dwell clicking software but often Adobe Professional lags as soon as I begin to select the text. As a result, SmartNAV's mouse cursor lags and the dwell clicking software clicks before I can make the entire selection. This is therefore really inconvenient sometimes to such a point that I have to use the computer mouse. Any idea how to solve this issue?

Also, in some Windows, SmartNAV's mouse cursor doesn't move at all, e.g. in Windows' device manager (Control Panel -> Device Manager).

Thanks for your help,
Francky

If you go to your task manager - processes tab, right click on SmartNav.exe, then go to set priority - above normal.

How does it work then?

SmartNav.exe's priority is set to high. (I elevated the priority quickly after first time I used SmartNAV)

If you're running SmartNav elevated to admin, try running the program you're having issues with elevated as well.

So many Windows users complained that after updated windows 10, Mouse pointers freezes. But not all Windows users face this problem then might be possible it's due to some hardware or software interfering with the Mouse. We can fix this issue using the below methods.

1- Check Mouse Settings: You make sure your mouse setting should be good. Open Device Manager > Double click on Mouse and other pointing devices to expand it > Right click on the name of your mouse> Click Uninstall > Go to the toolbar in Device Manager and click Scan for hardware changes > Windows will reinstall the drivers for your mouse.

2- Update your Graphic’s Driver: You can resolve this error to update your graphics driver.

3- Check Cortana: 1st Open Cortana > Select notebook icon in the Options pane on the left side of Cortana > Select Settings > A lot of options will come out > Turn off “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts and more.” You can follow https://appuals.com/mouse-pointer-lags- ... indows-10/ for more information and solutions to fix this problem.

Hello SmartNAV users,

Thank you for using SmartNAV and contacting us. This is a common problem with Windows 10. You will want to lower the Mouse Override Delay to 0.0. It's located in the Smart NAV Control Panel under the Behavior tab as pictured below.

Please let me know if this helps, or if I can clarify anything further.
All the Best,
