I registered for the purpose of helping people who may be having the same issue my brother and I have had for a long time. I finally figured out the problems for him last week.
Problem: In some games to name a few... Battlefield 4, mine craft, the mouse would jump around the screen if you try to move the cursor.
Solution: Go to control panel on the smartnav window. Then click on the behavior tab at the top. Then turn the mouse override delay to zero (defaults as 1.0 seconds).
I'm guessing this is a driver issue with some games, where it will switch from one input to the next to read all HID devices, the problem is when it reads the mouse for a split second a delay is called by the smartnav program.

Re: Fix for Jumpy Cursor in Some Games
I could KISS you right now! I've been playing The Elder Scrolls Online for the past two weeks, and when I first started playing everything was normal... and then all of a sudden, my mouse started being extremely jumpy, and the game was pretty much unplayable. I turned my override delay to 0 as you suggested, and now it is perfect again!
I was starting to get depressed, thinking I would not be able to play this game. But now I can, and I'm so happy! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
