Hi everybody,

I get serious troubles to install my smartnav 4 on my new laptop (windows 7 pro 64 bits).

My previous laptop worked with W7 HP64 bits. I get a smartnav 4 (144432) with an installation version cd 3.20.037 and it was perfect.

With the new laptop, the install seems to be ok (with this cd) but dwell clicker is not supported whereas it was perfectly working on the old one (??!!). I get an error message : "the dwell clicker is not supported with this version of the hardware".

I download and install other installtion package with same results.

Could someone help me please ?

greulain,

Based on the serial number you provided, the model you have is the SmartNav 4:EG. Which does not support dwell clicking. That feature is locked to the hardware. So I'm not sure how it was working with your previous system, but it should not have been. There is nothing that we would be able to do without having you upgrade to the SmartNav 4:AT.

Regards,

May be it was a 32 bits version (motherboard HS) ? Does it work on W7 32bits ?

greulain,

No, it actually shouldn't work at all on either 32 or 64 bit. I'm not sure how it worked originally on your old machine.

Did you try to use another clicking software like Point-N-Click (http://www.polital.com/pnc/) or ClickAid (http://www.polital.com/ca/) or DMouse (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dmouse/)? All programs are available at no costs and provide dwell clicking as well as other features.
Please let me know if this was of any use for you ;)
