SmartNav 4 Identified as OptiTrack Device

When I plug in one of my SmartNav 4s into a fresh install of the latest software the program Identifies it as an OptiTrack Device. When I then plug in a different SmartNav 4 the second one works fine... Conclusion then is there is something physical not correct with the first one... I know nothing about "OptiTrack" devices. Are they so similar that they can be confused / interchanged (even just the internal parts [LEDs / Cable connector]). Is something shorted out? What is it trigger's the software to identify an OptiTrack Device?
