dontclick.it works great wtih SmartNAV
hi,
I just got my SmartNav and have been playing with it for about an hour. Its tricky to get used to since I have been a long time mouse user. I was getting frustrated because I was still using the mouse to click. Now I am using keyboard shortcuts which is much better. I started surfing the web when I remembered a site that was designed to work without any mouse clicking. The site is www.dontclick.it You should give it a try and see what you think. I think there is real potential of combining the technology of the Natural Point products and the user interface of www.dontclick.it To take all this to another level imagine a linux distribution whose window manager (the operating system's gui) were designed with no click principles in mind. If Natural Point were so inclined they could start a linux distro project that would create a custom operating system for their product. Not only would it add to the overall value of hands free mouse it might even give it the momentum to change the very way we interact with the computer!!

Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
The goal: Complete hands free websurfing.
I am assuming your SmartNav is already loaded and configured to your liking. Here is how you can use it to get total hands free clicking.
Step 1: Download and install Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
Step 2: Install the GreaseMonkey addon for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/748/
Restart Firefox
Step 3: Install NoClick script for GreaseMonkey
http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/6004.user.js
Might need to restart Firefox
Now you should be able to surf the web hands free!
For more functionality take a look at the mouse gestures addons
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/39/

Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
Thanks for the post, definitely something to check out!
Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
I am afraid the addon and the script quite simply will not execute. I am left with firefox but nothing else.
Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
It is not a product that we support. Have you tried contacting the software, and plug-in developer?
Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
Well no. The person makes a post it gets a 5 star rating. But the stuff that is recommended does not work. Hey this is the www. That is the way it is.
However why did the post get the big star rating ?

Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
Probably because it was a self rating....
Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
Ha! Now I see.
Re: guide to websurfing without clicking
try Gamecommander using vopice recognition. Yoy can map Smartnav's keyboord shortcuts for the mouse keys to a speech command with it.
'Click' 'right-click' etc
